For the entertainment business, January is a month of long public holidays and school breaks, and WARPOINT’s VR arenas started the year with strong figures. Here is the revenue of the network’s operating locations in Russia — by cities of different sizes, with no averaging and no rounding.
January’s top performers
- Moscow, Aviapark mall — $100,000, the best result in the network;
- Moscow, Columbus mall — $85,000;
- Rostov-on-Don — $72,000;
- Murmansk (population 264,000) — $40,000;
- Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk (189,000) — $39,000.
Smaller cities earn like cities of a million
In January, Murmansk and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk outperformed most locations in cities with a population of over a million. Every city category has its own leader:
- cities of 500,000–899,000 — Kemerovo, $25,000;
- cities of 300,000–499,000 — Kirov, Maxi mall, $29,000;
- cities of 100,000–299,000 — Murmansk, $40,000;
- towns of up to 99,000 — the village of Zasechnoye (Penza region), $15,000, and Salekhard, $15,000.
A particular arena’s result depends on more than the size of its city. What really matters is the location, management, marketing and how many years the venue has been open and building up a base of regular guests.
