A series of WARPOINT VR tournaments starts in Yekaterinburg. An MVP will be chosen
A new season of WARPOINT VR tournaments is starting in Yekaterinburg. The organisers are announcing three upcoming events at once — in January, February and March. Registration for them is open right now. For the first time the tournaments will name an MVP, the most valuable player.
The teams will meet at the WARPOINT VR arena in the VEER MALL shopping centre in Yekaterinburg, at prospekt Kosmonavtov 108D.
Eight teams will take part in each tournament. The games will follow a single-elimination format — “Team battle, 4v4”. Everyone starts with equal chances, but only the strongest go through. The teams do have a chance to prepare, though: every tournament participant gets a 20% discount on practice games.
The prize fund for each tournament is $960 and will be split as follows:
In addition, the tournaments will single out the most valuable players — the MVPs. The award goes to whoever posts the best ratio of knockouts to defeats — the KD. The higher the KD, the better the chances of becoming MVP and receiving a special prize.

All the tournament results will be entered into the official WARPOINT BATTLE rating system. After each game teams gain rating points (for a win) or lose them (for a defeat) within the system, which is reflected in the overall WARPOINT BATTLE team standings. Depending on the number of rating points, teams move up through the leagues: from sand to platinum. This is how the rating table with the top WARPOINT ARENA teams is built, showing clearly the professional level of players from different cities.
