The First Virtual Reality Tournaments
From the moment the first WARPOINT arena opened, the network of esports VR arenas quickly began expanding across Russia. Along with this growth came a rising number of active and engaged players. Some people come just to try out WARPOINT ARENA once, while others choose it as their main place to spend their free time — whether it’s meeting friends after work or getting everyone together for the weekend.
Professional players and fans of traditional team-based tactical games like paintball and laser tag also began to try out the VR shooter. The first VR tournament for WARPOINT ARENA in Rostov-on-Don in early 2022 worked as an excellent promotional event and brought in an even bigger audience. Franchisees saw the potential in tournaments as an effective tool for attracting a new audience that was previously hard to reach — people who wouldn’t leave their homes or gaming clubs. This is how WARPOINT VR arenas started attracting a new crowd — gamers and esports players.
Now, nearly the entire network is interested in WARPOINT ARENA tournaments. Partners decided to develop the product in the direction of esports — local tournament leagues started to appear in cities like Rostov-on-Don, Chita, Kaliningrad, the "Ural Cup," the "Bryansk Cup," the "Volga Cup" (Naberezhnye Chelny), the "Black Earth Cup" (Kursk), and others.

WARPOINT VR Tournaments Go Nationwide
The WARPOINT head office closely monitored the tournament experiences of network partners, and in the fall of 2022, they hosted their first tournament in Yekaterinburg with a prize pool of 120,000 rubles.

New Services for VR Tournaments
As more matches were played, WARPOINT VR tournaments in the player community started to be seen as something strictly professional and not very beginner-friendly. And as the number of tournaments grew, it became harder and harder to issue challenges and keep track of points in the global rankings. To overcome these obstacles, we developed our own ranking system — WARPOINT BATTLE.
WARPOINT BATTLE is an official ranking system where players can register their teams and challenge other participants. For each victory, the team earns points and moves up the leaderboard, advancing from one league to the next.
The system is straightforward: teams register, challenge each other, play matches, and progress through five leagues — Sand, Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. This way, beginner teams can now choose opponents with similar experience levels in their league, remotely issue challenges with automatic notifications to the VR arena, and earn or lose ranking points based on the outcome of the game.
In addition to the official ranking system, we’re introducing another service that will enhance our esports experience — the official tournament bracket, TOURNAMENT BRACKET. The simple interface allows you to choose the tournament format: single-elimination, round-robin, or double-elimination.
Now everything is official and digitized. These are real services aimed at developing our esports direction. Everything is ready for the next stage.
